Customize how OtterLedger looks
Accessing Settings
Menu → Settings → Appearance
Theme Options
Color Theme
| Theme | Description |

| Light | Bright background, dark text |
| Dark | Dark background, light text |
| System | Follows OS setting |
Accent Color
Customize highlight color for:
- Selected items
- Buttons
- Active tabs
- Progress indicators
Font Settings
Font Size
- Small (12px)
- Medium (14px) - default
- Large (16px)
- Extra Large (18px)
Font Family
Choose from available system fonts for:
- Interface text
- Numbers/amounts
- Reports
Layout Options
Sidebar
- Expanded - Show icons and text
- Collapsed - Icons only
- Auto-hide - Hide until hover
Density
- Comfortable - More spacing
- Compact - Tighter spacing
Transaction List
Display Options
- Show/hide specific columns
- Reorder columns
- Row height (compact/normal/relaxed)
Colors
- Enable alternating row colors
- Highlight reconciled transactions
- Color-code by category
Dashboard
- Choose default widgets
- Arrange widget layout
- Set refresh interval
Report Display Modes
The Report Gallery supports 3 display modes:
| Mode | Description |
|---|---|
| Large Cards | Default view with report descriptions visible |
| Compact Cards | Smaller tiles — fits more reports on screen |
| List View | Minimal, text-only rows for quick scanning |
Set your preferred display mode using the view toggle buttons in the top-right corner of the Report Gallery. Your selection is remembered between sessions.
Tips
- Dark theme reduces eye strain
- Compact mode fits more data
- Test themes with your common tasks
